AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION (a) SECTION
15 B -3, OF CHAPTER 15 B OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE BY CHANGING THE AMOUNT
OF OCCUPANCY TAX TO BE LEVIED UPON OCCUPANTS OF
HOTELS OR MOTELS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, that subsection (a) Section 15 B -3, of Chapter 15 B of the
Code of Ordinances be amended to read as follows:
Section 15 B -3. Levy of Tax, rate, exceptions
(a) There is hereby levied a tax upon the occupancy
of any room or space furnished by any hotel or
motel where such cost of occupancy is at the
rate of $ 2.00 or more per day; such tax to be
equal to four per cent (4 %) of the consideration
paid by the occupant of such room or space to
such hotel or motel.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this amendment shall take effect
and be in force from and after August 29, 1977.
