PROCLAMATION
NO. 2015-31
WHEREAS public works services in Huntsville are an integral part of our
citizens’ everyday lives; and
WHEREAS the support of an understanding and informed citizenry is vital
to the efficient operation of public works systems and programs
such as water, wastewater, streets and highways, public
buildings, and solid waste collection; and
WHEREAS the health, safety, and comfort of Huntsville greatly depends on
these facilities and services; and
WHEREAS the quality and effectiveness of these facilities, as well as their
planning, design, and construction, is vitally dependent upon the
efforts and skill of public works personnel; and
WHEREAS the efficiency of the qualified and dedicated personnel who staff
public works departments is materially influenced by the
peoples’ attitude and understanding of the importance of the
work they perform.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power
vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:

be declared: PUBLIC WORKS WEEK
in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of the
achievements and special contributions to our community by the employees of the
City in honor of this year’s theme, “Community Begins Here.”
