Proc. 2014-42 Thomas Dale Bullard Loitz Day 05-18-14 PROCLAMATION NO. 2014-42 WHEREAS the conferring of the designation of Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout as it requires years of dedication and commitment to achieve, since Eagle Scouts act as leaders and role models in the community; and WHEREAS Thomas Dale Bullard Loitz began scouting at age six as a Tiger Cub and progressed through Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Ranks, also earning his Arrow of Light while a Cub Scout; and WHEREAS he joined Troop 97 at age 11, earning 27 merit badges and serving as Quartermaster with the troop in his seven years with them; and WHEREAS Thomas’ Eagle Scout Project was to build and install two cedar garden benches for the entrance of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinity, Texas; and WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is proud of Thomas Loitz, as he exemplifies the values that make a community strong. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that: May 18, 2014 be declared: Thomas Dale Bullard Loitz Day in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of this achievement and acknowledge his special contributions to our community. th PROCLAIMED AND SIGNED this 18 day of May 2014. ___ __________________ Mac Woodward, Mayor
