PROCLAMATION
NO. 2014-38
WHEREAS Sam Houston’s NCAA Division I Women’s Bowling Team has
only been in existence for four years; and
WHEREAS Head Coach Brad Hagen and senior Kimi Davidson and Neishka
Cardona have provided leadership and supported and
encouraged the talents of all the team’s members; and
WHEREAS on April 12, 2014, the team defeated defending NCAA champion
Nebraska, 4-2, in Cleveland; and
WHEREAS the title is the first in any sport for the Bearkats since the team
moved to Division I in 1986, and was the SHSU Bearkats’ fifth
national championship overall.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power
vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
May 6, 2014
be declared: SHSU Women’s Bowling Team Day
in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of the
success of these students and coaches.
