PROCLAMATION
NO. 2014-34
WHEREAS human health is dependent upon an abundant supply of pure, clean
drinking water; and
WHEREAS we are all stewards of the water infrastructure which future
generations depend upon; and
WHEREAS safety, quality, and abundance of water can only be safeguarded by
sound environmental protection, appropriate treatment, and
properly maintained distribution systems; and
WHEREAS federal, provincial, and local governments as well as concerned
organizations, are cognizant and supportive of measures which
promote safe, clean, and abundant water, and responsible
wastewater management.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in
me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
MAY 4-10, 2014
be declared: Drinking Water Week
in the City of Huntsville, and invite all citizens to work together to protect our source
waters from pollution, to practice water conservation, and to get involved in local
water issues.
