PROCLAMATION
NO. 2014-17
WHEREAS the conferring of the designation of Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards
that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout as it requires years of dedication and
commitment to achieve, since Eagle Scouts act as leaders and role models in
the community; and
WHEREAS Adam Michael Hunsaker of Huntsville, Texas, began scouting in 2005,
quickly progressed through the ranks, and eventually joined Boy Scout Troop
114; and
WHEREAS Adam spent months fundraising, planning and preparing to install a 30-foot
flagpole in front of Alpha Omega Academy, an asset surrounded by pavers
recognizing local individuals and businesses; and
WHEREAS throughout his years of scouting, Adam has earned the 50 Miler Award, the
Arrow of Light, and the World Conservation award, as well as held the
leadership positions of Webmaster and Patrol Leader; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is proud of Adam Hunsaker, as he exemplifies the
values that make a community strong;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in
me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
January 26, 2014
be declared: “Adam Hunsaker Day”
in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of this
achievement and acknowledge his special contributions to our community.
