ORD CC 08/27/74 - Designating city parkORDINANCE 74 -14 ORDINANCE DESIGNATING A PORTION OF PUBLIC PROPERTY AS A CITY PARK WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Hunts ille, Texas, in co- ordination with the Parks and Recreation Boar of the City of Huntsville, Texas, has determined that a neces ity exists for the creation and establishment of a City Park fOr the use and benefit of the citizens of this community for recreational purposes; and WHEREAS, a determination has been made that sa Park should be located in properties owned by the City of Texas, in the Warren Birdsell Survey, A -1, in Walker Count and that the area to be designated as a City Park should b as the Kate Barr Ross Memorial Park; d City untsville, Texas, known NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that: Section 1: There is hereby created and designated the Kat Barr Ross Memorial Park for use by the citizens of his community for park and recreational purposes u der rules and regulations established from time toitime by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, or the Department of Parks and Recreation, as pproved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas. Section 2: The area to be designated as the Kate Barr Ross', Memorial Park is described by metes and bounds as follows: Being 21.1 acres of land, more or less, located in the Warren Birdsell Survey, Abstract 1, in Walker County, Texas, and described as follows: BEGINNING at a point bearing N 81° 18' W 991.36' feet from the center line of the entrance to the Wyn a Farm fronting U. S. Highway 75, same being 485.80 fe t from the southwest boundary of the Wynne Farm tract and he south- east boundary of the tract conveyed to the Cityiof Hunts- ville, Texas, by the Texas Prison Board, November 27, 1945, and also being in the north right -of -way Uine of U. S. Highway 75 and recorded in Vol. 112, Page155, of the Deed Records of Walker County, Texas, a stake for corner; THENCE N 0° 46' W along the west side of a 60 foot access road to the municipal airport 504 feet to cornet; THENCE along a curve to the right having a central angle of 22 °, radius of 600 feet and length of arc 230 feet, to a point of tangency; 27S THENCE along a curve to the left having a centr angle of 35.5 °, radius of 600 feet and length o 372 feet, to a point of tangency; THENCE N 24° 45' W 795 feet to corner; THENCE N 84° 10' W 420 feet to corner; THENCE S 5° 50' W 1190 feet to corner; THENCE N 55° 50' E 120 feet to corner; THENCE along a curve to the right having a cent angle of 85 °, radius of 150 feet and length of 223 feet to a point of tangency; THENCE S 39° 14' E 412 feet to corner; al f arc al rc THENCE S 5° 50' W 390 feet to corner in the north ROW line of U.
