CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO THE CORPORATION
CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
WALKER COUNTY, TEXAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS:
WHEREAS, by a resolution unanimously adopted by the
City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, on the 24th
day of April, 1973, it was resolved that the City Council
proposes to institute annexation proceedings to incorporate
into the City Limits of the City of Huntsville, Texas, the
following described territory within the extra territorial
jurisdiction of the City abutting the City Limits:
BEGINNING at a point, said point being the intersection of
the South Right -of -way of F.M. Highway No. 2821 with the
East line projected of the most Northerly East line of the
Department of Corrections Wynne Farm Property;
THENCE Northerly 580 feet to a point;
THENCE 500 feet from and parallel to the North right -of -way
of FM 2821 Easterly, to a point, said point being 500 feet
West from the West Right -of -way of Loop 405;
THENCE North, 500 feet from and parallel to the West Right -
of -way of Loop 405, approximately 1150 feet;
THENCE Northeasterly 500 feet from a parallel to the North
West Right -of -way of Loop 405, approximately 1980 feet;
THENCE Southeasterly to intersect the Northwest corner of the
McAdam's Subdivision;
THENCE Easterly along the North line of the Adam's addition
to a point where it extended, intersects the Southwest right -
of -way of US Highway 19;
THENCE Southwesterly along the said right -of -way to the South-
west corner of a O. F. Shipp tract;
THENCE Easterly approximately 1050 feet;
THENCE S 22° W approximately 900 feet to the North right -of-
way of FM 2821 (Fish Hatchery Road);
THENCE Westerly along the said North right -of -way to intersect
the West line of the Foster Bobo Survey Abstract No. 74;
THENCE South along the said West line of the Foster Bobo
Survey to a point, said point being N 01° 20' W 433.1 feet
from the Southwest corner of said Bobo Survey, said point
being also the Southeast corner of Hill 'n Dale Subdivision;
THENCE N 88° 30' W 1010 feet to a point which is 500 feet
from the East right -of -way of Highway 19;
THENCE Southwesterly 500' from a parallel to the said Right -
of -way to intersect the present City Limits;
THENCE following the present City Limits to the PLACE OF
BEGINNING.
It was further resolved that notice of a hearing
before the City Council to be held on May 8, 1973, at 7:00
o'clock P.M. at the City Hall of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, be caused to be published by the City Secretary by
publication of said resolution in the Huntsville Item, a
newspaper having general circulation in the County of Walker,
and in the territory proposed to be annexed, which notice to
be published at least once in such newspaper not more than
20 days nor less than 10 days prior to the hearing, at which
time all parties interested in said annexation proceedings
may be present; and
WHEREAS, said notice was duly published in the
Huntsville Item, on the 27th day of April, 1973, and such
public hearing was held on the 8th day of May, 1973, at
the City Hall of the City of Huntsville, Texas, at the time
designated therefor, and after such hearing the Council con-
sidered the evidence presented and has concluded that the
above described territory should be and the same is hereby
received and annexed as a part of the City of Huntsville,
Texas.
Duly made and passed by unanimous vote of the City
Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, and approved this
the 8th day of May, A.D., 1973.
