AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT A NECESSITY EXISTS FOR THE M-
PROVEMENT OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS F
THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGIN ER
TO PREPARE AND FILE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCH IMP OVE-
MENTS TOGETHER WITH ESTIMATES OF THE COST THEREOF, AND AU HORI-
ZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MECHANIC'S AND MATERIALMAN S
AND PAVING LIENS CONTRACTS WITH ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS,
WHERE NECESSARY:
WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Hunts ille,
Texas, has made a survey of improvements needed for certa n
streets within the corporate limits of the City of Huntsv ile,
Texas, and reported his findings from time to time to the
City Council and the Council having considered all the ev dence
available has determined that a necessity exists for improve-
ments as recommended:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNC L OF
THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that the City Council in r gular•
session has determined, and here finds that a necessity a *ists
for the paving and improving of certain streets within th
corporate limits of the City of Huntsville, Texas, as mor
particularly described as follows:
A. To curb, gutter and pave Old Madisonville Road from
its intersection with 7th Street to its intersection with
Highway 75 North.
B. To curb, gutter and pave Smith Hill Road from i s
intersection with Old Madisonville Road to a defined poin
North of said intersection for a total distance of 49 fee
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the said City Engi eer
is hereby directed to prepare and file with the City Coun it
plans and specifications for such work and preliminary es imates
of the cost thereof. It is further ordained that the May r
of the City of Huntsville, Texas, be, and he is hereby authorized
to enter into Mechanic's and Materialman's and Paving Lie
Contracts with abutting property owners, where applicable in
accordance with this ordinance and in accordance with ord -
nances to be hereinafter inacted for such paving and impr ve-
ments of such streets.
PASSED AND APPROVED IN OPEN COUNCIL by unanimou vote
on this the 12th day of December, A.D., 1972.
