ORD CC 08/07/62 - Levying TaxesAN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES UPON TAXABLE PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN AND
AND SUBJECT TO TAXIATION IN THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE
IN COUNCIL ASSEMBLED:
SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied, for the current year on
all real property situated and all personal property owned within the
limits of said City of Huntsville, Texas, on the first day of January
1962, except so much as may be excepted under constitution and laws
of this State of the United States, the following taxes:
(1) An ad valorem tax of and at the rate of One Dollar and Ten
Cents($1.10) on the One Hundred ($100.00) Dollar cash value thereof,
estimated in lawful currency of the United States for the currecnt
expenses for the support and maintenance of the City Government of
said City of Huntsville, Texas.
(2) An ad valorem tax of and at the rate of Thirty Cents ($.30)
-on the One Hundred Dollar ($100.00) cash value thereof, estimated
in lawful currency of the United States, to pay current interest on
and provided one year's sinking fund and to pay all of the principal
and interest accuring on all outstandind bond, paving, bond, funding
warrants, improvement bonds, and warrants, and any and all other bonds ..:.
and warrants outstanding heretofore lawfully issued by the City of
Huntsville, Texas and which are now levied outstanding obligations
of the said City of Huntsville, Texas.
(3) An occupation tax on all persons, firms and corporations
doing business within the City of Huntsville, Texas, equal to one -
half of that provided by law for occupation tax due and payable to
the State of Texas, and including all amendments of Article 7047 of
the Revised Statutes of 1925, and other amendments thereto -.
SECTION TWO: The above and foregoing ordinance shall take effect
and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
The foregoing ordinance was referred to the Finance Committee
in open Council at the regular meeting of the City of Huntsville
Council on the 7th day of August, 1962.

Ordinance was referred have duly considered the same, recommend that
the said foregoing ordinance, levying taxes for the year 1962, be
adopted.
