Proc. 2015-12 Halloween Volunteers Day 11-18-14 PROCLAMATION NO. 2015-12 WHEREAS in October 2014, the City of Huntsville Scare on the Square and Haunted Hayride planners called on the community for volunteers whose assistance enabled these events to be held; and WHEREAS students, business owners, parents, and countless numbers of zombies and the undead stepped (or shuffled) forward to offer their time, expertise, and donations; and WHEREAS their generosity and spooky spirit brought life to both events, full of candy, children’s activities, shivers, and goose bumps; and WHEREAS as is true for all who volunteer with the City of Huntsville, be it at yearly events such as these, or year-round with facilities such as the Library, Wynne Home, Sam Houston Statue, and others, that we express our deepest appreciation and gratitude for all of these helping hands. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that: November 18, 2014 be declared: Halloween Volunteers Day in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of volunteerism and service in our community. th PROCLAIMED AND SIGNED this 18 day of November 2014. ___ _______________ Mac Woodward, Mayor
