WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntsville is desirous of
decorating the new City Hall in an appropriate and aesthetically pleasing
manner compatible with architectural design through the display of art; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntsville desires to foster
cultured enhancement, involvement and interest of area residents, and enhance
personal identification with and through the new facility; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntsville has determined that
these objectives can be achieved through the sponsorship of an art contest;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, that a cash award art contest be sponsored by the City of Huntsville
for the express purposes stated above under the following guidelines:
1. Contest be open to all professional and amateur artists.
2. No entry fee or limit on number of entries.
3. All receiving cash awards become the property of the City
of Hu 'Ville.
4. Awards:
One first place award
Two second place awards
Four third place awards
Five fourth place awards
Ten fifth place awards
