PROCLAMATION
NO. 2013-38
WHEREAS Huntsville Pets Helping People is a non-profit organization consisting of
thirty registered volunteer teams of animals and handlers; and
WHEREAS these teams make routine visits to patients in healthcare facilities to help
improve their health and to promote education to encourage
responsible relationships between people and pets; and
WHEREAS HPHP offers dog obedience classes, where the handlers learn how to
guide their pets in basic good behavior techniques and also have
certified and licensed evaluators conduct frequent workshops for
handlers and evaluations for pets who often come from as far as Dallas
and Galveston.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
May 18, 2013
be declared: “Huntsville Pets Helping People Day”
in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our residents to join in support and
appreciation of the bond between people and animals fostered by HPHP.
