PROCLAMATION
NO. 2013-20
WHEREAS Huntsville and Walker County have been well-served due to the activity
of local business owner Bette Nelson; and
WHEREAS Bette is described by other merchants as a “cheerleader for Huntsville”
who unceasingly volunteers, shares her positive attitude, and works
diligently to promote the area and events downtown; and
WHEREAS Bette is involved with the Downtown Business Alliance, Main Street
Promotions Committee, HEARTS Veterans Museum Board, and as an
ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS there were many deserving nominees this year, highlighting Bette’s
exceptional example as an advocate for our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:

be declared: “Bette Nelson Day”
in the City of Huntsville, and encourage all citizens to recognize Bette Nelson’s
contributions and join her in strong support of local activities.
