PROCLAMATION
NO. 2014-01
WHEREAS Todd A. Christian has provided an outstanding example of personal
achievement in his few short years, it is a pleasure to spend a few
moments recounting his Boy Scout accomplishments today; and
WHEREAS Todd has earned all available merit badges, totaling 137, which is
extremely rare; all four components of the God and Country Religious
Emblem Award; the Robert A. Josey Outstanding Boy Scout Award;
and the George Strake District Scout of the Year award; and
WHEREAS Todd also has the significant distinction of being named the Troop 114
Scout of the Year for five consecutive years; and
WHEREAS Todd’s honors are with great merit, especially in view of his extensive
leadership roles, including two terms as Assistant Senior Patrol
Leader, four terms as a Senior Patrol Leader, four terms as Junior
Assistant Scoutmaster, and positions as Philmont Trek 712-U Crew
Leader, National Youth Leadership Training Course leader, and as a
member of the Interamerican Leadership Training staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
October 20, 2013
be declared:
“Todd Christian Day”
in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to show their support of this fine young
man and his dedication to the Boy Scouts of America, our community, and our country.
