Proc. 2014-02 Dig Pink Day 10-15-13
PROCLAMATION
NO. 2014-02
WHEREAS this fall, thousands of volleyball teams around the country will
participate in the Dig Pink® National Breast Cancer Awareness
Rally; and
WHEREAS since the 2004 founding of the Sideout Foundation, following the
“miracle season” at West Springfield High School, under the direction
of Coach Rick Dunetz, hope, energy, and enthusiasm have been
brought to support victims of breast cancer; and
WHEREAS every year, middle school, high school, and college teams will promote
breast health education as well as raise funds to help eradicate this
disease; and
WHEREAS student athletes at Alpha Omega Academy and Covenant Christian
School have been inspired to use their talents for this worthy cause.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
October 15, 2013
be declared:
“Dig Pink Day”
in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to support the efforts of these competitors
and aid them in finding a cure.
