Proc. 2012-21 Gene Myrick Day 02-26-12 PROCLAMATION NO. 2012-21 WHEREAS Gene Myrick has been described as “the kind of citizen every city hopes for” and has devoted himself to making our community more pleasant, educational, and entertaining; and WHEREAS Gene has worked tirelessly on such beneficial projects as the Huntsville Public Library and its expansion, landscaping at the First Methodist Church, aiding in an active local AARP, and most of all, the Old Town Theatre; and WHEREAS he has also delighted all who know him with his beautiful and very patient wife, Felicia, who has uncomplainingly shared his exploits; and WHEREAS Gene has decided the time has come to retire from the Theatre, much to the sorrow and dismay of those who have come to depend so greatly on his dependability and unceasing cheerfulness. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that: February 26, 2012 be declared: Gene Myrick Day in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to acknowledge the many contributions of Gene Myrick and thank him for his many years of selfless volunteerism and service. th PROCLAIMED AND SIGNED this the 26 day of February 2012. _____________________ Mac Woodward, Mayor
