PROCLAMATION
NO. 2012-04
WHEREAS Zachary Baker is a graduate of Huntsville High School who began
attending Texas A&M University as a Mechanical Engineering
major before electing to serve his country in the armed forces; and
WHEREAS Zachary volunteered for one year in the U.S. Marine Corps and was
stationed in Afghanistan as a member of the Lone Star Battalion;
and
WHEREAS Lance Corporal Zachary Baker received several recognitions during
his time abroad, including the NATO International Security
Assistance Force, Navy Sea Service Deployment, Afghan Campaign,
and National Defense ribbons; and
WHEREAS this dedicated member of our community returned home three days
ago, to his loving and appreciative family and friends, and intends to
resume his studies at Texas A&M University.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
October 4, 2011
be declared: “Zachary Baker Day”
in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of his
achievement and acknowledge his contributions on behalf of our nation.
