PROCLAMATION
No. 2011-24
WHEREAS the Captain John McAdams Chapter of the Texas State
Society of the Sons of the American Revolution was founded in Walker
County; and
WHEREAS this organization honors descendants of the patriots who
served in the American Revolution; and
WHEREAS in September 1987, the Captain John McAdams Chapter
originally dedicated a plaque listing all known patriots of the American
Revolution who were buried in Texas; and
WHEREAS today the City of Huntsville would like to offer gratitude to
these citizens who have continued to pay tribute to those who gave all to
found our great nation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power
vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
April 9, 2011
be declared: “Sons of the American Revolution”
in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of this rededication,
and recognize the important contributions made to our country.
