Proc. 2014-12 Lady Lions Day 11-19-13
PROCLAMATION
NO. 2014-12
WHEREAS have shown leadership, maturity, and a true family cohesiveness
during their amazing season, the last for six graduating seniors on
the eleven player team; and
WHEREAS this year has been an example of service, as the team dedicated it first
to local celebrity Guy Gillette and then also to the father of a member
who was also felled by cancer during the season; and
WHEREAS the team also participated in the Dig Pink initiative to fight breast
cancer, in an exhibition series with Covenant Christian School; and
WHEREAS the Alpha Omega Academy Lady Lions volleyball team and Coach
Peggy Heaton have gone 29-9 for the season and finished third in the
state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
November 19, 2013
be declared:
“Lady Lions Day”
in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to support the accomplishments of these
fine young people.
