Proc. 2016-48 - HHS Class of 1966 50th Reunion - 7-15-16
PROCLAMATION
No. 2016-48
WHEREAS the Huntsville High School Class of 1966 has reconvened to celebrate its 50th Reunion and recall their memorable days at HHS; and
WHEREAS this group of over 100 graduates, led by Class President Mark Beto and Valedictorian Mary Laura Gibbs completed their secondary education in the main buildings of what is now
Mance Park Middle School; and
WHEREAS under the leadership of Principal L. K. Westmoreland (who retired upon this class’ graduation), these students went on to become productive citizens who gave back to the communities
they lived in, both here and around the world, as educators, athletes, leaders, and lifelong friends; and
WHEREAS Huntsville is proud to recognize these fine men and women and welcome them back to their hometown for this special weekend.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, that
July 16, 2016
be designated as: HHS Class of 1966 Day
in Huntsville, Texas, and urge all citizens to join in congratulating the members of the Huntsville High School Class of 1966 on their 50th class reunion.
