Proc. 2016-26 - MMES DAR Chapter Centennial - 4-2-16 PROCLAMATION NO. 2016-26 WHEREAS the Mary Martin Elmore Scott Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was organized March 3, 1916, in the Wynne Home by Mrs. Mae Magruder Wynne McFarland, with sixteen charter members, who named the Chapter after Real Daughter Mary Martin Elmore Scott, a resident of Waverly; and WHEREAS as the objectives of the National Society Daughters of American Revolution then and now are Historic, Educational, and Patriotic, the Chapter has continuously supported each objective; and WHEREAS today we gather to celebrate the 100th anniversary of continuous service, in the very home where it was formed, to thank those who continue to honor the great revolutionary history and spirit on which our nation was founded. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me, Andy Brauninger, as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that: April 2, 2016 be declared: Mary Martin Elmore Scott Chapter Day in the city of Huntsville, and encourage all citizens to celebrate and thank all the members of the Chapter for the last 100 years.
