PROCLAMATION
NO. 2018-11
WHEREAS Fire Chief Tom Grisham has been an important member of the Huntsville Fire Department since joining as a volunteer in August 1974; and
WHEREAS Grisham grew up with strong examples of public service and has gone on to provide the same for generations of local citizens; and
WHEREAS mentored by fine chiefs such as H. B. Toney, Joe French, and volunteer chief Jack King, Tom Grisham has served our community exceptionally well as chief for the last 23 years;
and
WHEREAS today we gather with bittersweet feelings of the loss of this great man in the everyday activities of the department, while we also congratulate him on his retirement to well-deserved
rest and recreation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:
February 28, 2018
be declared: Fire Chief Tom Grisham Day
in the City of Huntsville, and call upon our citizens to thank Fire Chief Tom Grisham for all he has done and his devotion to the City of Huntsville and our community.
