PROCLAMATION
NO. 2017-47
WHEREAS Anitra Shepherd moved to Huntsville in 1995 to attend Sam Houston State University and then began a career as a Correctional Officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice;
and
WHEREAS Anitra started her family in June 2000 with the birth of her daughter and only child, NaTavia Deijanae Butcher, and found a loving partnership with her husband Lonnie when they
wed in 2010; and
WHEREAS Anitra loved traveling, shopping, entertaining, fishing, and camping with her family, and was an active member of her daughter’s booster club, "The Tiger Belles." Whenever asked,
Anitra was more than willing to give her advice or lend a helping hand; and
WHEREAS today we offer our condolences and support to Lonnie, Deija, and all of Anitra’s family and friends, as we remember her life and times.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:

be declared: Anitra Shepherd Day
in the City of Huntsville, and encourage all citizens join in a celebration of Anitra’s life.
