Proc. 2017-45 - Rev. Scott Dornbush Day, 6-17 PROCLAMATION NO. 2017-45 WHEREAS Reverend Scott A. Dornbush has served Huntsville for the better part of a decade as the Senior Pastor at First United Methodist Church; and WHEREAS in that time, he endeavored to provide for and improve local lives by establishing finance, computing, sign language, and outreach classes open to the community, providing monthly meals for Hospitality House, and supporting a Community Service Team to build wheelchair ramps and provide minor home repairs to the elderly and needy; and WHEREAS he was active among community leaders as a member of the Rotary Club, and serving on the boards of the Methodist Retirement Community, the Senior Center of Walker County, the SHSU Wesley Foundation, and the Walker County Long-Term Recovery Committee; and WHEREAS it is with gratitude that we acknowledge the long hours, devotion, and dedication of Rev. Scott Dornbush to our citizens as we wish him well in his future position in Kingwood, and sincerely thank him for all he has done here. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that: June 20, 2017 be declared: Rev. Scott Dornbush Day in the City of Huntsville, and call upon all to join us in celebrating Rev. Dornbush’s achievements and activities to enrich the hearts and lives of Huntsville.
