PROCLAMATION
NO. 2017-05
WHEREAS National Night Out provides an opportunity for citizens in communities across Texas to promote cooperative, police-community crime prevention efforts; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville plays supports the Huntsville Police Department crime, drug, and violence prevention efforts and National Night Out 2016 events; and
WHEREAS it is essential that all our citizens are aware of the importance of crime prevention programs and the impact that their participation can have on reducing crime, drugs, and
violence in Huntsville; and
WHEREAS today we celebrate and emphasize the National Night Out themes of police-community partnerships, neighborhood safety, and awareness and cooperation throughout our neighborhoods
and business areas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:
October 4, 2016
be declared: National Night Out Day
in the City of Huntsville, and urge all residents to participate by turning on their outdoor lights this evening, as we welcome the crime prevention parades throughout Huntsville.
