Proc. 2019-20 - Zachary ZZ Weeks, Eagle Scout 4-7-19
PROCLAMATION
No. 2019-20
WHEREAS the conferring of the designation of Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout, as it requires years of dedication and commitment to achieve,
since Eagle Scouts act as leaders and role models in the community; and
WHEREAS Zachary Zane “ZZ” Weeks, son of Kelly and David Weeks, has dedicated many years to the pursuit of achieving the honor of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS ZZ has been a member of Troop 114 since 2012, and has attended numerous Boy Scout camps, as well as church mission trips and camps; and
WHEREAS for his Eagle Scout project, ZZ completed a natural trail and meditation area at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, and has logged volunteer hours at the United Methodist Church,
Good Shepherd Mission, Hospitality House, Walker County Senior Center, and the H.E.A.R.T.S. Veterans Museum; and
WHEREAS ZZ has maintained his schoolwork and grades to remain in the Top 10 of his class throughout his career at Huntsville High School, and plans to attend the University of Texas
College of Communications in Austin; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is proud of Zachary Zane “ZZ” Weeks, as he exemplifies the values that make a community strong.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in
me as the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, that
April 7, 2019
be designated as: Zachary Zane “ZZ” Weeks Day
in Huntsville, Texas, and urge all citizens to join in the celebration of this achievement
and acknowledge his special contributions to our community.
