Proc. 2019-11 - AOA football team, state finalists - 1-15-2019
PROCLAMATION
No. 2019-11
WHEREAS this fall, for the first time in school history, the Alpha Omega Academy Lions varsity football team marched to the TAPPS Six-Man Division II state championship game; and
WHEREAS the Lions have had players shine all season long, having four players named to the all-state team, Joel Balsch and Cole Garrison named all-state players, two second team all-state
players, Vonya Benson and Zachary Taylor, and one honorable mention all-state player, Jacob Poteete; and
WHEREAS the 2018 team consisting of five seniors, one junior, six sophomores and four freshmen are the undefeated District Champs, State runner-up, and supported by the all-state and
all-American parents, coaches, administration and student body; and
WHEREAS the highlights of the season came from winning the Mud Bowl at Bryan St. Joseph and the semifinal game against New Braunfels 58-57 in the final three seconds of the game.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that

in Huntsville, Texas, and urge all citizens to congratulate the 2018 Alpha Omega Academy Lions varsity football team on their victorious season.
