RE IT ORDAI1TED by the City Council of the City of i-untsvill.e,
Texas, in ( ouncil assembled:
W-11EREAS, the City of t untsville, Texas, owns and operates its
own water works system, consisting of wells, water mains, lines,
pipes, pumping plant, resevoirs, machinery, equipment, etc. , and
the machinery and equipment constituting the water works plant
proper, not including any of. the water mains, represents an invest-
ment of approximately Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000®00 ) , and the
revenues derived from the operation of said water works system is
more than the amount necessary to pay off and discharge the running
expenses of said plant, including the cost to the City of having
the water pumped from its wells into its resevoirs, mains, etc. ,
and
AREAS, the life of the machinery, engines , motors, etc. ,
constituting said water works system is approximately ten years,
and said plant has to be replaced and repaired from time to time;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that there is hereby set aside,
reserved and ordered to be place ,in trust in the treasury of the
City of Huntsville, Texas, the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00)
per annum out of the revenues arising from the operation of the
water works plant of the City of Huntsville, Texas, which said sum
shall be so reserved, set aside and deposited in such trust fund
before the thirty-first of 1.1-larch, 1930, for the current fiscal year
of the said City of Huntsville, 'Texas, and a like sum shall be
reserved, set aside and placed in the treasury of the said City of
Huntsville, Texas, in trust for each and every fiscal year thereafter
on or before the thirty-first of iaarch of each year thereafter, which
said sums so reserved, set aside, appropriated and placed in the

City Treasury as a trust fund for the purpose aforesaid shall be
expended and paid out on warrants properly drawn and authorized by
the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, 'for the sole and
only purpose of buying new equipment or machinery for said water
works plant, or making necessary renewals to its said present water
works plant and said fund shall be paid out for no other purpose
whatever,
THE FACT THAT revenues arising from the operation of the water
works system of the City of Huntsville yields a surplus over and
above the necessary running expenses thereof, and the fact that
surplus funds arising from the operation of said plant have here-
extension
tofore been expended for the x and maintainence of the city
water works
of the City of Huntsville, Texas, creates an emergency
and an imperative public necessity that this ordinance be adopted at
the meeting at which it was offered and shall not lie over to the
next regular session.
