ORD CC 11-17-1916 - Annexation Vol. E•, P. 124 AN ORDINANCE An ordinance extending the corporate limits Of the City of Huntsville on certain defined territory adjacent to the City of Huntsville on the South boundary line thereof. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITE' 00 HUNTSVILLE III COUNCIL assembled that is having been made to appear that the following persons to wit$ R- M- Woods, H. F. Estill, J. go Baldwin, L. Rix, Jtao. To Baldwin, J. A. 19ynne, L. J. Justioe,_ F. N. Rix, George Willi,asns, J. N. Yiuddlestpn, A. F. Bounds, W.T. Martino Jesse McCulloch, G. Eo Gillaspie?, tiro Eo Bailey, E. To Earnest, C. Go Pate, J, IV, McAdams, Leonard Baldwin, J. W. Gille,spin,, and J. Sam.Angei.r, are inhabitants of the territory hereinafter described and constitutes a majority of the quallified voters for members of the State Legislator residing in said. territory adjoining the limits of the City of Huntsville, and that said territory does not exceed ones-half mile in width, and that said persons so constituting a xatajority of the qualified voters residing in said district have voted to accept the provisions of Title 22 of The Revised Civil Statutes of the S'ta'te of Texas, and to beocotao a, part of the City of Huntsville by having the corporate limits of said City extended to Include the territory hereinafter described. And its further being made to appear that three of the said persons, squallified voters residing in said district have made affidav t to the effect that a'majority of the gua;llified voters residing in said district have voted to accept the provisions of Title 22 or the Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas, and have voted to beoomse a part of the said City of Huntsville by having the corporate limits of the said City extended to inoluate said terw ri.tory. It is therefore ordained by the City Council of the City of Huntavillo that the territory hereinafter described shall be and the same is hereby an- nexed to and made a part of the City of Huntsville, and the corporate limits of the!said City of Huntsville shall be and the same are hers extended so as to include the territory hereinafter descri.bed4 It is further ordained that from and after the taking effect of this ordinance, the territory hereinafter described shall be a part of they City of Huntsville, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all the rights and privil.ages of other citizens and shall be bound by the accts and ordinances made in conformity theme to and passed in presence of Title 22 of the Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas. That the territory dvsoribod in the Petition signed by the said R, Mo Woods and twenty other persona constituting a majority of the qualified voters residing in said district, is bound and described in Exibit "A" to said petition, and here now described as follows to wit✓!
