E., Pj 279 An Ordinas.noe to require and to regulate the construction of awnings on buildings KKK the fire limits of the City of Hunt.svi,llo and preaoribing penalty f'or violation of same, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TtCi�; CITY OF 111INVUVI.I,:U'l Section is That from and after the passage of this ordinance it shall In unlawful for any person or property owner whose property or building lies wholly or in part within the tire limits of the City of Beatsville, to construct and maintain any awning to any building or buildings that shaall not conform to the specifications hereinafter set forth and epooi.fie o Section A That any awnings oonstructed within the limits prescribed by the proceeding article shell be constructed as follows: the owner or owners of any buildings within said five; limits shall construct awnings commonly known so "Marjuee" or "Swinging" awnings, and the name shall be supported by hog chains securely fastened in the walls and of such strength and durability as to support twice the weight of the awning supported therobyo Such awnings shall be as nearly as pousible fireproof throughout and shall be covered with metal, covering, No awning so constructed shall be less than nine feet obovu the sidraweal.k,j and shall extend across the sidewalk from the building to which it it attrached to the curb, $00tion 81 That no awning shall aver be constructed or repaired within the fire limits of the City of Nuntsville without first procuring a permit from the hayor authorising this repair or construction of said Wmaing, and such permit shall specify the kind of awning to be erected or repaired and no permit shall ever be granted for the building of an awning of different or other type than the one described in this ordinance, Section & Any person who shall: construct or repair any awning within the fires limits of the City of Huntsville without a permit or who shall, constructs or repair any awning; in violation of this ordinance, shaal.l be guilty of a cuts" demeanor and upon conviction thereof in the corporation court shall be fined in any sum not less than Tern and not more than too Hundred Dollars; pro* vided that it shall be a separate offense both in the contractor constructing or repairing can awning in violation of this ordinance, and also an offense on the part of the person employing such contractor$ and provided further that it shall be a separate offense on the part of the owners or lessees for each day that an awning constructed or repaired in violation ion of this or d n« canoe shall be maintained by said owner or Losses of the building In front; of which said awnings shall be unlawfully constructed or repaired.
