The Council met in a regular session with the following:

COUNCILMEMBERS ABSENT:Lydia Montgomery

1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Woodward called the meeting to order at 9:00 am.
2. INVOCATION AND PLEDGES—Mayor Woodward led the invocation and pledges..
3. PUBLIC COMMENT
There were no public comments.
4. MAYOR/CITY COUNCIL AND CITY MANAGER REPORT
a. Presentation, discussion,and possible action on process for selection of permanent City Manager. [Mayor
Woodward]
Mayor Woodward said the proposed ad hoc committee would be of limited duration, for the purpose of
recommending to Council the process for selecting a new City Manager,firstly whether the City would perform the
search itself or would use and outside individual or firm.
The Mayor nominated Councilmembers Olson Humphrey Emmett and Fitch (Councilmember Olson to act as
chair), citizens Dave Brinson and Carol Smith and ex-officio members Interim City Manager Chuck Pinto City
Secretary Lee Woodward Chief Kevin Lunsford and Angela Martin Human Resources Coordinator The Mayor
asked the committee to report back by the June 5 Council meeting. The motion passed unanimously, 8-0 The
Mayor said there would be a related item on each agenda during the process.
5. MEDIA INQUIRIES RELATED TO MATTERS ON THE AGENDA
There were no media inquiries.
6. ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST
(Hear announcements concerning items of community interest from the Mayor, Councilmembers, and City staff for
which no action will be discussed or taken.)
The Mayor announced there was a swim meet at the Aquatic Center this morning, the Farmers Market was on this
morning, and the FireWise presentation at Elkins Lake would be this afternoon at just after 3pm. Mayor Woodward
announced a Council Coffee for May 22, from 5:30-7 pm, at City Hall, for the public to meet the Interim City Manager
Chuck Pinto.
7. ADJOURNMENT
The Mayor adjourned the meeting at 9:09 am
