ORD CC 06/05/1925 - Prohibiting peddling in city AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PEDDLING AND BELLING OF MERCHANDISE
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF HUNT3VILLE,TEZAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNT37ILLE,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any Peason to
use the streets or alleys embraced with in the corporate limits
of the City of Huntsv111e,Texas, for the purpose of vending or
displaying goods,wares. merchandi se,o r produce,or other articles,
or for the purpose of peddling goods,wares,merchandise,produce,
or other articles:
PROVIDED,however, that this section shall not apply
to any person who himself offers for sale any product raised
or grown upon the property owned or rented by him,or under his
control.
Section-2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor,and upon conviction
shall be fined in any sum not less than one (11. ) Dollar,and
not to exceed twenty-five($25. ) Dollars.
Section 3. Whereas,the use of the Public Streets by peddlers ,
and venders of wares and merchandise, creates an imperative
public necessity,that the rule which requires ordinances tg be
read at three separate meetings,be suspended and the same is
hereby sustended,and this ordinance shall take effect and become
of force from and after its passage and legal publication.
