RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO DESIGNATE
THE V&ST SIDE OF AVENUE H WITHIN THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH
16TH STREET SOUTHWESTERLY TO ITS INTERSECTION
WITH AVENUE I TO BE A NO PARKING ZONE.
WHEREAS, Section 12-37 of Chapter 12 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Huntsville provides that the Mayor of
the City is authorized to designate no parking zones within the
City as may be authorized by the City Council from time to time;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntsville has
heretofore authorized the closing of certain streets and public
ways in and through the campus of Sam Houston State University
so that traffic formerly proceeding north and south on Avenue I
is now rerouted along Avenue H within the Limits of the said City
of Huntsville, Texas, and by virtue of such increased traffic flow
on Avenue H, the best interest and the safety of the public would
be served by designating the West side of Avenue H as a no parking
zone:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that the Mayor of said City shall' in
all things be authorized to hereinafter designate the West or south-
wast side of Avenue H as a no parking zone from the intersection of
said Avenue H with 16th Street southwesterly to the intersection of
Avenue I and that as evidence of such designation, the Mayor is
further authorized to cause the City administration to install no
parking signs along the designated area.
WHEREUPON, said Resolution was duly made and seconded and
passed upon a vote of for and C> against on the 14th day
of June, 1977 .
