RESO CC 1975-01 - Community Development assistance RESOLUTION NO. 75-1
WHEREAS the Federal Government, through the Department of Housing and
Urban Development, is making available to those cities interested and willing
to apply, funds for the purpose of eliminating slums, blight , unsafe and
unhealthy conditions, and to improve housing conditions and restoring and
preserving historical sites; and
WHEREAS the City Council for the City of Huntsville is concerned about
these conditions that exist in our community and is continually striving
to improve the community and its facilities and services;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council desires to let it
be known that the City will actively seek federal financial assistance for
the community's needs under the provisions of the Community Development
Act of 1974 and will allocate the necessary staff time to develop a formal
application for funding.
