RESO CC 1975-20 - Public Works Director - Vehicle policy RESOLUTION ND. 75-20
WHEREAS, The City of Huntsville has in its inventory
of property items of used equipment, used motor vehicles , and other
miscellaneous items deemed surplus to the needs of the City; 'and,
WHEREAS, in the past the City of Huntsville found that
the available market for the sale of used equipment and other surplus
items was limited and that the best Possible sales price to be ob-
tained for such equipment was through the media of public auction;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has agreed to cooperate
with the City of Huntsville in order to hold a joint auction of used
and surplus equipment and motor vehicles and it appears that it would
be in__the__bes-t--interest of -said-City of Huntsville to approve such
joint auction, authorize the advertising of bids by publication so
stating that a public auction of such equipment will be held, and
further authorizing as an expense the fees incurred for personnel to
conduct such auction;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Huntsville that:
THE Director of Public Works for the City of Huntsville be,
and he is hereby authorized to select from the inventory of City
equipment and motor vehicles thoseitems. , deemed used and surplus to the
needs of such City, to publish notice of the sale of such specified
items in the Official Newspaper of the City; such sale to be by public
auction in cooperation with the City of Beaumont, Texas , and that the
expense of such auction be paid from the proceeds of such auction.
