RESO CC 09/25/1973 - Salary Ranges i A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SALARY RANGE FOR CLASSIFIED POSITIONS IN THE CITY'S ORGANIZATION WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and its Employees to Clearly define each classified position in it's organization and write a formal job description for each position clearly outlining the duties to be performed and expectations of each employee in executing his job so that both employee and employer understand job functions, and WHEREAS,' certain positions will require different levels of prior experience, professional development, and educational re- quirements for filling the job to secure the best possible job candidates, those prior employment standards should also be pro- mulgated for mutual understanding, and i WHEREAS, a salary range has been established for each classified position in the City with a base salary and increment merit raises thereafter to be', awarded to employees whose per- formance justifies said raisers based on tenure and level of productivity which -will attract and retain the best possible employee for the Municipal Public Service and offer equal pay on equal responsibility and work performed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL of the City of Huntsville do hereby adopt the City's Position Classification and Pay Schedule for improved personnel administration with the provision that this plan can be period- ically reviewed and amended as needed by the Council.
