RESO CC 1974-15 - Special Purpose Committee RESOLUTION NO. 74-15
WHEREAS a need exists for improvements in the Central Business District
of Huntsville, Texas, in relation to traffic safety and the welfare of
merchants in the Central Business District, and
WHEREAS the City Council in response to the recognition of the existence
of these needs will hereby establish a Special Purpose Committee.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, that a Special Purpose Committee is hereby established to study and
report on alternative solutions for additional parking spaces lost due to
federal and state regulations, parking permits, curb loading zones, offstreet
parking facilities, special use permits, and any other improvements deemed
germane to the betterment of the Central Business District and merchants;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the persons named herein are hereby appointed
to serve on this committee, to wit:
John Amick Burt Praytor
Larry Dickens Joyce King
Hon. Amos Gates Gen. Wm. R. Lynch
Darrell White Norma Slater
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, City Engineer, Traffic
Safety Coordinator, and Texas Highway Department Engineer are hereby
appointed to serve as staff resource people to the Committee.
