RESO CC 01/01/1973 - Designating a Fiscal Officer A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS DESIGNATING
AN AUTHORIZED OFFICER OF THE SAID CITY, AND A FISCAL OFFICER OF THE CITY,
TO SERVE THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE IN REQUESTING AND OBTAINING A GRANT OF FUNDS,
FOR A HUNTSVILLE TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM, FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS SAFETY
ADMINISTRATION, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville, Texas is endeavoring to establish a
comprehensive Traffic Safety Program in and for the said City of Huntsville
in order to improve the public safety of and for the citizens of Huntsville,
Texas, and,
WHEREAS, the financing of this proposed Traffic Safety Program, or
project, is a financial burden of such magnitude upon the City of Huntsville
Texas, and, therefore, that financial assistance will be, or is, requested
from the State of Texas Traffic Safety Administration to initiate, carry
out, and finance this important and much needed Traffic Safety Program in
the City of Huntsville:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
SECTION I
That James H. McAlister, City Manager of the City of Huntsville, Texas,
is hereby designated as the Authorized Official, and J. D. Davis, Director
of Finance of the City of Huntsville, Texas, is hereby designated as the
Fiscal Officer for the intent and purposes of requesting, receiving, and
disbursing funds obtained or derived from the State of Texas Traffic Safety
Administration under the Texas Highway Safety Acts of both 1966 and of
1970, for the initiation and performance of a Traffic Safety Program in the
City of Huntsville, Texas;
SECTION II
That this resolution take effect immediately upon the date of its
passage, in order to expedite the initiation of the proposed and contem-
plated Traffic Safety Program for the City of Huntsville, Texas, and the
obtaining of funds to finance same from and through the Texas Traffic
Safety Administration.
DULY RESOLVED, PASSED AND APPROVED at a regular public session of
the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, at which meeting a
quorum was present, this the day of A.D. , 1973.
