RESO CC 08/08/1972 - Department of Interior grant R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, has heretofore by Resolution duly passed on November 9,
1971, and entered on the Minutes of said City in Volume x ,
Page 300 , of the Minutes of the City Council of the City of
Huntsville, Texas, authorized 0. C. NELSON, Administrative
Assistant to the Mayor to execute and deliver any instruments
or documents necessary for the said City to participate in any
State or Federally funded programs for the purpose of construc-
tion of water treatment facilities or waste water facilities ,
which resolution included specifically the Texas Water Quality
Board and the Texas Water Development Board; and
WHEREAS the Department of Interior of the United States
Government, acting by and through the Environmental Protection
Agency has made an offer of a grant in the amount of $693 ,000 . 00
to the City of Huntsville, Texas , for the purpose of construction
and erection of a waste water facility am all incidental lines
and appurtenances thereto which said offer of grant is dated
July 24, 1972 , and which offer must be accepted by said City and
such acceptance duly signed and returned to said Agency
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Huntsville, Texas , that said City does hereby accept
the offer made by the Environmental Protection Agency an Agency
of the Department of Interior of the United States Government
for a grant of $693 ,000 . 00 for the construction of waste water
facilities and does agree to abide by all conditions and require-
ments as stated in said offer and that it is further resolved
that the said 0. C. NELSON, Administrative Assistant to the Mayor,
be, and he is hereby, authorized to sign and execute any and all
necessary documents , acceptances or other instruments in connec-
tion with the offer made by said Environmental Protection Agency
and to execute in the future any documents, instruments or other
papers necessary as from time to time required in the obtaining
of funds under the said grant.
WHEREUPON motion was made and duly seconded and said
Resolution was passed by unanimous vote of said City Council
of the City of Huntsville, Texas, on the 8th day of August, A.D. ,
1972 in regular session.
