AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12-10 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, BY RENUMBERING THE EXISTING
PARAGRAPH SUB-PARAGRAPH (a) AND BY ADDING A NEW SUB-PARAGRAPH
TO BE NUMBERED SUB-PARAGRAPH (b) PROVIDING THAT THE DRIVER OF
ANY VEHICLE MEETING OR OVERTAKING A SCHOOL BUS STOPPED FOR RE-
CEIVING OR DISCHARGING PASSENGERS SHALL STOP THE VEHICLE BEFORE
PASSING SAID SCHOOL BUS AND PROVIDING THAT THE VIOLATION THEREOF
SHALL BE PUNISHABLE AS PROVIDED IN THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT:
That Section 12-10 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Huntsville, Texas, is hereby amended by re-
numbering the present paragraph sub-paragraph (a)
and by adding a new sub-paragraph, which said new
sub-paragraph shall be numbered sub-paragraph (b)
and read as follows:
SECTION 12-10:
(b) The driver of a vehicle upon any street within
the corporate limits of the City of Huntsville
upon meeting or overtaking from either direction
any school bus which has stopped on any street
for the purpose of receiving or discharging any
school children shall stop the vehicle immedi-
ately before passing the school bus, but may then
proceed past such school bus at a speed which is
prudent, not exceeding ten (10) miles per hour,
and with due caution for the safety of such children.
Any person violating the provisions of this Ord-
inance, upon conviction shall be subject to the
penalties prescribed in Section 1-8 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas.
