AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, PROHIBITING
PARKING ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF UNIVERSITY AVENUE FROM A
POINT 206 FEET NORTH OF 17TH STREET TO A POINT 233 FEET
SOUTH OF 16TH STREET; PROVIDING A PENALTY OF UP TO $200
FOR VIOLATION; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EF-
FECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1: The following area is hereby designated a no parking zone:
The West side of University Avenue from a point 206 feet
North of its intersection with 17th Street to a point
233 feet South of its intersection with 16th Street.
Section 2: The City Manager is authorized and directed to post proper
traffic control signs along the above described location to inform
the public of the no parking zone.
Section 3: It shall be an offense for any person operating a motor vehicle
to stop, stand, or park a vehicle in the designated area.
Section 4: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be
punished by a fine of not more than two hundred ($200.00) dollars and
each violation shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 5: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the
terms of this ordinance are repealed, but only to the extent of such
inconsistency.
Section 6: The City Secretary is directed to give notice hereof by causing
the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper
of the City at least once within twenty (20) days after the passage
of this ordinance. This ordinance shall take effect from and after
ten (10) days of its publication.
