AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SPEED ZONES WHICH
SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATES ADDITIONAL AREAS IN
THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE IN WHICH RATES OF
SPEED OF THIRTY (30) MILES PER. HOUR OR MORE
ARE AUTHORIZED; RESCINDING ALL PARTS OF ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING
THAT ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE
ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE:
SECTION 1. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances relating to speed zones
on State Highway 30 in the City of Huntsville are hereby rescinded, and the following
are additional specifically designated areas in which a rate of speed of thirty (30)
miles per hour or more is authorized.
(a) State Highway 30 for traffic moving in an easterly
direction for the first 0.200 mile from the west city
limit of Huntsville the speed limit shall be forty-
five (45) miles per hour. For the next 0.656 mile
the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour.
For the next 0.200 mile to the intersection with
U.S. Highway 75 the speed limit shall be thirty-five
(35) miles per hour. Commencing in an easterly
direction from the intersection with U.S. Highway 190
for the next 0.170 mile the speed limit shall be
thirty-five (35) miles per hour. For the next 0.235
mile the speed limit shall be forty-five (45) miles
per hour.
For the next 0.548 mile to the intersection with
State Highway 19 the speed limit shall be fifty (50)
miles per hour.

For traffic moving in a westerly direction, for the
first 0.548 mile from the intersection with State
Highway 19, the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles
per hour.
For traffic moving in a westerly direction, for the
first 0.548 mile from the intersection with State
Highway 19, the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles
per hour. For the next 0.235 mile the speed limit
shall be forty -five (45) miles per hour. For the
next 0.170 mile to the intersection with U.S.
Highway 190 the speed limit shall be thirty -five
(35) miles per hour. Commencing in a westerly direction
from the intersection with U.S. Highway 75 for the next
0.200 mile the speed limit shall be thirty -five (35)
miles per hour. For the next 0.656 mile the speed
limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour. For the
next 0.200 mile the speed limit shall be forty -five
(45) miles per hour to the west city limit of
Huntsville.

SECTION II: WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the public
necessitates immediate action, this Ordinance shall be effective from and after
the date of its passage as provided by the Charger of the City of Huntsville.
