ORD CC 11/01/1927 - Street ImprovementsAN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE REPORT OF D.K.CAIDJE1L, CITY ENGINEER, ':KITH REFEAENCE TO THE PAVING OF CERTAIN STREETS ETS YITHIN THE CITY J_I &TIT'S OF nil; CITY OF HUNTSVILLE AND THE EXTENSION OF THE PAVING OF SAID STREETS IN ADDITION TO THE PAVING OF SAID STREETS EIGHTEEN FEET +"IDE, HERETOFORE CONTRACTED FOR BY WALKER COUNTY, AS F OLLO`J S : AVEN +' L FR0L THE SOUTH LINE OF FOURTEENTH STREET TO THE SOUTH LINE OF SEVENTEENTH STREET, AND FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF SEVENTEENTH STREET EXTEI,DIT:aG SOUTH ALONG ;HAT 13 KNOWN AS STATE HI GHJAY NO.19 , BEING AN EXTENSION OF AVENUE L, WITHIN TIE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF SEVENTEENTH STREET 10 ` THE SOUTH LINE OF THE STRE?_T RUN -ING EAST AND JEST SOUTH OF :AID ADJACENT TO THE SAID HOUSTON STATE TEACHERS COLLEGE I :AIN CAMPUS, AND ALSO SEVENTEENTH STREET PROM THE EAST LINE OF AVENUE L TO THE JEST LINE OF AVENUE K, BY REIN- FORCED CONCRETE ON SkiD S`T::R,ETS, AS HEREINAAFTER MORE FULLY SET FORTH. BE IT REMEMBERED that on this first day of r:ovember, 1927, coming on to be heard and considered by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, at a regular meeting thereof, whereat two - thirds of all the members of said City Council, more than a quorum, being present, the report of D.K.Caldwell, City :Engineer, made in response to an ordinance or resolution adopted by the City Council, at an adjourned meeting of said Council on the 30th day of August, 1927, and it appearing to the City Council, upon consideration and discussion of said report, that the same is in proper ford and meets the requirements of the ordinances of said city, with reference to street paving, and that said plans and specifications are suitable and proper, and .should be adopted: THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, IN COUNCIL ASSEMBLED: That the said report, plans and specifications, heretofore filed herein by the said ).K.Caldwell, City Engineer, as aforesaid, be and the same are hereby in all things approved and adopted as the official plans and specifications of said City, covering said improvements. And the City Secretary is hereby instructed to enter said report in the Minutes of this Council. 3e it further resolved that the Mayor of the City of Huntsville be and is hereby instructed to make proper advertisements for sealed bids, to be filed with the City Secretary, on or before the 15th day of November, 1927, at 8 :00 o'clock P.M., at which time bids will be opened and contracts awarded for said paving, in accordance with said plans and specifications. 3e it further resolved that this ordinance take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval. REFERRED to the Committee on Streets and Bridges, in open Council this first day of November, 1927. We, the Committee on Streets and Bridges, to whom the above and foregoing ordinance was referred, having duly con- sidered the same, recommend that the said this ordinance be adopted, ovember first, 1927.
