Proc. 2012-51 Robinson Memorial Church of God in Christ Day 08-26-12 PROCLAMATION
No. 2012-51
WHEREAS in 1930, the Robinson Memorial Church of God in Christ began as a
mission in the home of Sister Minnie Gambrel!, with a tent in which
worship services were conducted; and
WHEREAS over the years, the church and its membership grew steadily,
benefitting greatly from the leadership of its pastor, Elder J.R.
Robinson; and
WHEREAS in 2011, the church increased even more dramatically, allowing for
several new ministries, a new building, and additional land for future
expansion; and
WHEREAS on August 26, Robinson Memorial Church of God in Christ will
celebrate 82 years of services in the local community and surrounding
area.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as
the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:
AUGUST 26, 2012
be declared:
"Robinson Memorial Church of God in Christ Day"
in Huntsville, Texas, and encourage citizens to congratulate this organization on
their years of friendship and fellowship in our community.
