WHEREAS the United States Olympic Women's Artistic Gymnastics Team will
represent the United States in women's gymnastics at the 2012
Olympic Games in London; and
WHEREAS these Olympic team members compete internationally, integrating
gymnastics skills with dance elements; and
WHEREAS the gymnasts who will represent the United States include Gabby
Douglas of Virginia, McKayla Maroney of California,Aly Raisman of
Massachusetts, Kyla Ross of California, and Jordyn Wieber of
Michigan; as well as alternate athletes Sarah Finnegan,Anna Li and
Elizabeth Price;
WHEREAS the team's Olympic competitions will commence later this month
following the opening ceremonies on July 27th.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:

be declared:
"United States Olympic Women's Artistic
Gymnastics Team Day"
in the City of Huntsville, and wish to extend both congratulations and best wishes to this
talented group of individuals.
