WITHIN AND SUBJECT TO TAXATION IN THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, INCLUDING A POLL TAX IN ABLE BODIED CITIZENS OVER
THE AGE OF TWENTY -ONE YEARS, AND NOT OVER SIXTY YEARS OF AGE
ON THE FIRST SAY OF JANUARY, LOOS AND ALSO INCOUDING
OCCUPATION TAXES, AND DACLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE IN COUNCIL
ASSEMBLED.
SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied, for the current year on all
real property situa ted and all personal property owned within the lim-
its of said City of Huntsville, Texas, on the first hay of January 1945
except so much as may be excepted under the constitution and laws of this
State or the United Stated, the Following taxes.
(1). An advalorem tax of and at the ratd of 50 cents o8 the One-
Hundred ( *100.00) Dollars cash Value thereof, estimated in lawful curr-
ency of the United Stated for the current expenses for the support and
maintenance of the City Government of s4id City of Huntsville, Texas.
(2). An adlelorem tax of and at the rate of 75 cents on the One
Hundred Hollers, t(100.00) Cash value thereof estimated inlawful currency
of the United Stated, to pay current interest 6n and provide one Year's
sinking fund and to pay all of the principal and interest accuring on
all outstanding Warrants, sewerage, bonds, paving bonds, Funding Warrants
Sewer Extensions, Improvement Bonds, and Warrants, City Hall and Fire
Station Warrants, and any and all other bonds and Warrants outstanding
therefore lawfully issued by the City of Huntsville, Texas, and which are
now valid outstanding obligations of the staid City of Huntsville, Texas.
(3). An annuel advalorem tax of and at the rate of 5 cents on the
One Bumdred Dollars sash value thereof, estimated in lawful currency of
the United States, for the purpose of the support and maintenance of the
Fire Department authorized by law at an eleotion held thereunder and the
„ordinance of the City of Runtrvi.11e, Texas.
(4). An occupation tax on all person, firms and corporations doing
business within the City of Huntsville, Texas eq ual to one -half ,of
that provided by law for occupation tax dye and payable to the`:$tate of
, Tesas, and including all amendments of Article 7047 of the Revised Std.
tutee of 1925, and other amendments thereto.
(5). A poll tax of One ( *1.00) Dollar on every inhabitant of Said
City of Huntsville, Texas over the age of Twenty -one (21) yeara and not
over sixty (60) years of age in the first day of Hanurany.
SECTION TWO: The above and foregoing ordinance was referred to the Fi-
nance Committee on open Council at the Regular Recessed meeting of the
City Council held on the 4) day ! 1945.
We, the Finance Committee, to whom the above and foregoing Ordn a-
noe was referred, have duly oonsedered the same, reoommendiAg. that the
said foregoing erdinanoe, levying taxes for the year of 1945, be adapted.
