AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, AMENDING ARTICLE III, CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE BY ADDING AN ADDITIONAL
SECTION TO BE NUMBERED SECTION 12 -45 AND TO BE ENTITLED
TEMPORARY NO PARKING ZONE DESIGNATIONS, AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF
OF POLICE OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE TO DESIGNATE TEMPORARY
NO- PARKING AREAS FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL OF A NATURE THAT DOES NOT
REQUIRE PERMANENT NO PARKING ZONE TO BE DESIGNATED AS OTHERWISE
AUTHORIZED BY LAW, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, that Article III, Chapter 12, of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Huntsville is hereby amended by addition of the following
section:
Section 12 -45 Temporary No Parkins Designation
The Chief of Police of the City of Huntsville is hereby authorized
to designate with temporary no parking zone within the parking zone of
the City of Huntsville, Texas, whenever the immediate control of traffic
requires such a designation in providing for the public interest. Such
temporary no parking zones shall be identified by appropriate barriers
or notices of such a nature as may be easily identifiable by the operators
of motor vehicles.
It shall be unlawful for any person to fail to observe any area
designated as a temporary no parking zone or to remove or tamper with
any notices, barriers, or other methods of designation of temporary no
parking zones.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that any violation of the provisions of
this ordinance shall be punished as provided in Section 1 -8 of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas.
