ORD CC 05/10/77 - City Truck BidsORDINANCE NO. 77 -7 AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, CONFIRMING THE ACCEPTANCE OF CERTAIN BIDS, FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT AND DETERMINING A NECESSITY THAT PAYMENT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE FOR SUCH EQUIPMENT SHALL BE BY CERTIFICATE OF OBLIGATION, DETERMINING THAT NOTICE HAS BEEN PUBLISHED AS REQUIRED OF THE INTENTIONS TO ISSUE SUCH CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION, AND OTHERWISE CONFIRMING AND AUTHORIZING THE METHOD OF PAYMENT FOR SUCH EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville has heretofore advertised and accepted bids for the purchase of the following equipment: Description Bidder Bid Price Total (3) 24,000 G.V.W. Trucks Port City Ford Co. $ 23,127.00 $ 23,127.00 for general City use Houston, Texas WHEREAS, said equipment is to be used by the Streit Department of the City of Huntsville for public purposes and the said City Council of the said City of Huntsville has heretofore officially determined that it would be in the best interest of said City to purchase said equipment: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas: Section 1: That the City of Huntsville confirms the acceptance of bids submitted by the following named company for the equipment indicated for use in the Street Department in the City of Huntsville: Description Bidder Bid Price Total (3) 24,000 G.V.W. Trucks Port City Ford Co. $ 23,127.00 $ 23,127.00 for general City use Houston, Texas Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Huntsville determined that it would be in the best interest of the said City to pay for all of such equipment by equipment acquisition certificates of obligation and that notice of such intention has heretofore been published in the official newspaper in the City of Huntsville, Texas, the Huntsville Item, on October 28, 1976 and November 4, 1976 , such date of first publication having been more than 14 days prior to the date hereof, and that the original invitation to bid for such equipment was likewise published in the Huntsville Item on two occasions with the first publication date being more than 14 days prior to the opening and acceptance of said bids, and that therefore such notices as required by law were given within the time and manner as required and that it is in the best interest of said City to pass legislation creating said Certificates of Obligation as an obligation of said City.
