A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMISSION OF A TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE OUTDOOR RECREATION GRANT FOR THE KATE
BARR ROSS PARK OUTDOOR SPORTS COMPLEX PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACT AS THE CITY'S EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS
PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE OUTDOOR
RECREATION GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS The City desires to develop a healthy community for all citizens, and the Kate Barr Ross
Park Outdoor Sports Complex will provide numerous activities for the citizens of Huntsville;
and
WHEREAS It is necessary and in the best Interest of the City to apply for funding under the Texas Parks
and Wildlife Outdoor Recreation Grant Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:
SECTION 1: A grant application is hereby authorized to be Bled on behalf of the City and be placed in
competition for funding under the Texas Parks and Wildlife Outdoor Recreation Grant
Program.
SECTION 2: The application will be for $1,025,452.00 of grant funds to assist in developing the Kate
Barr Ross Park Outdoor Sports Complex.
SECTION 3: The City shall contribute $525,452.00 in the form of cash and in -kind match for the purpose
of labor, renovation and /or disposal of waste for completion of the project
SECTION 4 The surface of the project site is protected from any drilling or mining.
SECTION 5: The Mayor and City Council strongly support this application to address the community
health, wellbeing, and recreation needs for the citizens of Huntsville.
SECTION 6: The City Council directs and designates the City Manager as the City's Chief Executive
Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all matters In connection with this
application and the City's participation In the Texas Parks and Wildlife Outdoor Recreation
Grant Program.
